Bio
i am the proud mother of the most gorgeous baby boy ever, named Jolan and born on the 17th of April 2007.
From the beginning of my pregnancy, and as an advocate of natural food, meat-free diet and trying to do (more than) my fair bit to help improve the environment, and generally following my natural instincts, i decided that i'd be listening to what my body wanted and was made for, and to provide my son-to-be-born with everything as natural as possible.
I became passionate with the works of Ina May Gaskin, a midwife working in the USA and helping mothers to give birth outside the narrow world of hospitals. i aimed for a natural birth and reading about what she and theses women were able to helped me trust my body and succeed in my birth plan.
i gave birth at home as planned, fought against a suggested almost forced and yet unjustified induction as well as against a suggested artificial rupture of the membranes when there was no need for it and my labor was well progressing.
I ended up in hospital anyway because of a bad tear, my stay there was hellish and i thank god that i was aware of what we women are capable of otherwise i couldn't have had a good start in breastfeeding my son.
I aim to continue breastfeeding until he stops by himself. I know i am giving him the best milk ever and it is a constant pleasure to see him growing up thanks to my magic juice :)
I never let him cry because it just distresses him and i want him to trust me (and honestly who can bear to hear thoses screams without an heartbreak?)
It just saddens me so much that women are generally afraid of giving birth because of ignorant doctors or won't or give up breastfeeding becasue of ignorance and bad advices...
Generally i just want to provide the best for my son, in a relationship based on trust and confidence.

"Breastfeeding is an unequalled way of providing ideal food for the healthy growth and development of infants; it is also an integral part of the reproductive process with important implications for the health of mothers. As a global public health recommendation, infants should be exclusively breastfed for the first six months of life to achieve optimal growth, development and health. Thereafter, to meet their evolving nutritional requirements, infants should receive nutritionally adequate and safe complementary foods while breastfeeding continues for up to two years of age or beyond. Exclusive breastfeeding from birth is possible except for a few medical conditions, and unrestricted exclusive breastfeeding results in ample milk production."
